muse hallucinogen

Muse_hallucinogen

the mountain range observes me
at a safe remove
behind mist
obscured
i brood wordlessly
yet
to the inanimate–audibly
static night air
absent wind
eavesdropping trees sway not
and contribute nothing
save
quietude’s odd offerings
a reflective space
a penitentiary of thought
the province of thinkers
one mountain moves
closer
the range remains
distant
at a safe remove
observing
withholding wisdom
a solitary bird preempts comtemplation
from the dark, her
song heralds daybreak
one mountain, eternities motionless
now mobile
approaches
with this to declare:
“togetherness is to be cherished
and;
ages ago,
a straight answer became passé.”
one mountain returns
to the range it never left to begin with
